Who We Are

I hold a special appreciation for the knife. It is among the most effective and versatile tools known to humankind. A well-used knife, to me, is a thing of beauty—every nick, burnish, scratch, and worn spot has a story.

 

For me, custom knives are heirloom pieces of functional art.  Each one is unique.  Notice, I didn’t say perfect.  While it is an ideal I strive to achieve, none of my knives come off a factory floor; none were stamped by robots or funneled through on conveyor belts one right after the other.  Each one starts as a hunk of steel and becomes what it does in my two hands.  

 

I love making them, and I love the idea of one of my knives eventually making it into the hands of sons or daughters, and then into the hands of their sons and daughters.  That is the mindset I have with every knife I make.

 

I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it.
